“ From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was inviting, with a warm and sophisticated decor that set the perfect tone for a memorable meal. The Sweet Corn Agnolotti - a dish that was both innovative and comforting. The pasta was cooked to perfection, bursting with the sweetness of the corn, complemented by a sauce that was simply divine. Following that, the Chilean Sea Bass was another showstopper. The fish was beautifully prepared, maintaining its delicate flavor while the accompanying ingredients enhanced its taste without overpowering it. Service at Casalena was nothing short of excellent. Our waiter was knowledgeable, attentive, and made thoughtful recommendations that elevated our dining experience. The staff's passion for their work was evident, making us feel both welcomed and valued. ”
“ Casalena, where have you been all my life? This is the restaurant to dress up for when you're craving an unforgettable dining experience. The space is absolutely beautiful, and the food? Simply superb. I've been twice now, and everything has been excellent. The squash blossoms were a standout--lightly battered, perfectly crisp, and filled with creamy, herbed ricotta that was beyond delicious. The charred octopus was tender and flavorful, but the real showstopper? The wagyu meatballs. Hands down, the best in Los Angeles. I was genuinely shocked at how incredible they were--even my friend, who never eats meatballs, loved them. For the mains, you cannot go wrong with the following: The spaghetti allo scoglio is fantastic, but the Chilean sea bass stole the show for me--absolute perfection. The truffle risotto is to die for. So rich and perfectly cooked. Also their rotating specials, like the lamb pasta and mushroom lasagna, were equally impressive, with the lasagna being rich, creamy, and completely decadent. Casalena has officially become one of my favorite restaurants, and I'm already counting down the days until I go back! ”
“ Casalena was delicious. Me and my girlfriends went and practically ordered everything on the menu and split the bill $100 each. Everything was mind blowing. The vibe is very upscale and fancy!!! I can't wait to go back for brunch. We had the best time and spent several hours stuffing our faces. ”
“ We made a reservation for 8 people for 6pm and thank goodness we did. It was a blast and had the best server! *We forgot your name sorry*! The ambiance is both elegant and inviting, featuring a lush sunken patio, a glass-enclosed terrace, a modern bar and lounge, and an elegant second level with an atrium. We especially enjoyed the whipped eggplant appetizer, rich and creamy with a perfect balance! They had a desert menu (with different coffees) but, the yummiest one we had was a classic Tiramisu dessert (rum-infused espresso, mascarpone, and savoiardi cookies). All of their drinks that we all got were delicious and not too sugary! The had a small list of wines but, got lucky enough to taste test 3 of them before choosing one I enjoyed. This is a fantastic spot for a special occasion or an upscale night out, and we will definitely be back! Transparency about this place price wise: $100 per person minimum for a large parties! ”
“ We had the privilege of once again stepping into the heaven on earth located on Ventura Boulevard. As you walk through the large wooden doors past the valet, a wave of warmth washes over you--you just start feeling good. Approaching the beautiful dining hall, a sense of excitement grows, reminding me of Shawn Mullins' song, "Leave All Your Troubles Behind." Casalena's mood-changing ability alone is worth a few hundred dollars. A wonderful host seats you and makes you feel comfortable. As you are enjoying the surrounding the sound of laughter and the cling of silverware, there comes the drinks. I am convinced the bartender is also a mind reader--every time I've been there, my drinks have been perfect. Even my wife, who is particular about her Skinny Margarita, couldn't find a single flaw. The timing of the drink arrivals and the appearance of appetizers is perfectly orchestrated. It allows you to sip and settle in before being teased by the appetizers. This choreography is an art that only highly trained managers, servers, chefs, and staff can truly master. By the time I was on my second martini, the main course arrived. We had several dishes, and they were all fantastic--it's impossible to choose which one was better. As the appetizers, main courses, and drinks combined to deliver the most satisfying experience, the desserts and coffees began to waltz onto the table. Oh my goodness--I had the best macchiato ever, served with a small scoop of ice cream. Pure perfection. I didn't want to leave, but I had to. The silver lining? I get to come back again and again, just like thousands of other delighted customers. My kudos to all. ”
“ My friends and I came here last night to celebrate one of their birthdays. I made reservations ahead of time on OpenTable. I been to this location before when it was the Villa but now it's a whole new restrauant and I heard good things about it. You can do their valet parking or looking for street parking on Ventura or around the area. We parked on Costanso street for our dinner reservation so just be aware that the street is very dark and the sidewalks has a lot of bumps. It's not that safe for ladies walking alone or just in general. When we arrived to the restrauant, we got seated immediately in their garden area. There heaters on the top and also some tarp to provide shade or cover. It is kind of tight inside so be aware that the other table is right next to you. We started off with the spicy soppressata pizza and it was delicious. For our entree, we did the dinner special which was the 10oz filet mignon and be aware that you can't change the side. So we had to get a side of truffle fries and regular fries. The birthday boy got the 12oz New York Strip and got whipped potatoes for his side. Our food didn't take that much time to come out. The presentation was spot on and our food looked delicious. My friend really liked his New York strip. I got my filet mignon medium rare and asked for the sauce to be on the side which cause my steak to be a little dry in certain area. It was still good though and I thought the mashed potatoes that came with it was okay. I like my regular fries better and my friends enjoyed the truffle fries along with their steak. They do not give complimentary birthday dessert here or they didn't give us one. If you get their seafood options, you get less portions so just look at the pictures beforehand. Overall this is a nice place especially if you sit in the garden area because it's set up to look romantic. The service we received was great and all of the staff were wonderful. The bathroom here for men is also just a single room that is shared for men, family, all gender and handicap. ”
“ When I was planning my visit to Casalena, I chose to go there for lunch, in order to try their 3-Course Prix Fixe Menu ($34). There's also a brunch menu on Saturdays and Sundays . On entering the establishment, one is immediately impressed by the well appointed seating, decor, lighting, music and table arrangements. There are lounging areas, places to dine, several seating areas and a bar. There is also an upstairs similar but smaller set up. Everything is in its place and curated to highlight the ambiance and magnetic pull of this lovely space. I started with the Wagyu Meatballs (ricotta, parmesan, pomodoro, parsley). There were two of them, moist on the inside, dressed with a tomato sauce, the right temperature, succulent and satisfying. For the second course, I chose the steak Frites (hanger steak, au poivre, french fries). There was a $5 up charge for this choice and it was fully worth it. I ordered the dish medium rare and the pieces melted in your mouth, with robust flavors. In fact, I had several left over cuts, ate them cold two days later and they were equally delicious. Service was exceptional. But all is not hunky dory here. Before arriving, I called several times to inquire about parking and was always pushed to voice mail. Several restaurants have adopted this practice and it is annoying. Anyway, there is only valet parking. I found a free spot close by :) ”
“ Listen this is my 3rd times here and I have nothing but good things to say. Food is always creative and flavor on point. This is the only place that the vibe matched the food. It's always beautiful, classy, and service is great. We are repeat customers. This was a NYE menu and price is reasonable. I love that they change up the menu and have different specials. Looking forward to introducing more friends here. ”
“ I've been here twice in the last three months and they are consistent! The service: attentive and friendly The space: so romantic (the back patio reminds you of sitting in a Mediterranean setting and the inside was decorated for Christmas when we went and we sat by the fire which was so cozy) The food: everything we ordered was delicious (the crudo, meatballs, pastas, dessert) I took my hubby to his bday dinner here and they put a candle in his dessert but no, dessert isn't complimentary. There is a valet service for parking or you can find street parking, just read the signs! ”
